EXTENDERS

INTRODUCTION
Extenders are used to increase the yield of a sack of cement and, at the same time, decrease slurry density to reduce hydrostatic pressure.
Depending on the application for a low density cement slurry, ie. scavenger for mud removal, filler (lead) slurry for reduced or balanced hydrostatics or as a low density, cost effective primary or remedial cementing system. Extenders can be selected to react or non-react with the cement to provide the desired properties.

CA-EX1

Gilsonite extender, 5 to 25 lb/sk effective concentration, melting point 380o F.

CA-EX2

Solid, reactive silicate extender/accelerator, 0.25% To 3.0% effective concentration.

CA-EX2L

Liquid, reactive silicate extender/accelerator, 0.12 To 0.68 gal/sk effective concentration

CA-EX4

Select ground carbonaceous extender, 5 to 50 lbs/sk effective concentration, melting point +1000° F.

Cement grade clay extender, 2 to 16% BWOC effective concentration

Diatomaceous earth extender, 10 to 40% BWOC effective concentration, reduced compressive strength of set cement
