FRICTION REDUCERS |
|---|
| INTRODUCTION
Dispersants are added to cement slurries to facilitate blending at densities greater than the API recommended densities for classes of cement without the need for excess water. Some of the features and benefits for using dispersants are: 1) reduce friction pressures, 2) reduce critical pump rates for turbulent flow placement, 3) application of reduced water slurries, 4) enhance fluid loss additives, 5) enhance retarder response, 6) improve rheological properties. |

Granular, organic acid dispersant for use in salt slurries from 18% to 37.2% NaCl (BWOW), retards the pumping time. |
Powder, effective in fresh water or low salt slurries, application to 400° F. |
Liquid, effective in fresh water or low salt slurries, application to 400° F. |
Powder, essentially non-retarding. It is effective in high salt content slurries, and does not retard to the extent of other cement dispersants available. |
