ORGANIC VISCOSIFIERS |

| INTRODUCTION
These viscosifiers are organic water-soluble polymers. Used at low concentrations, they provide viscosity and in some cases gel strength and fluid loss control in a variety of waters and brines, and facilitate the maintenance of low-solids muds. Several of them are also useful in workover and completion fluids |

A high molecular weight specially produced partially hydrolized polyacrylamide polymer (PHPA). Functions as a primary vicosifying agent. Additionally, because of its highly anionic nature also functions as an important shale and bore-hole stabilizer/encapsulator, bentonite extender, and flocculation agent (for clear water drilling) . Normally a concentrated liquid but can be supplied in an extra high concentrated liquid form or dry powder form.
