STIMULATION TESTING EQUIPMENT

INTRODUCTION

This equipment is used to evaluate proppants and fracturing fluids, and was specifically designed to allow the engineer to optimize hydraulic fracturing stimulation treatments.                                                                                            

FRACTURE CONDUCTIVITY TESTER (MODEL ST-001)

Permits the engineer to examine the conductivity of a linear proppant pack under various levels of stress. Instrument meets API specifications.                                                                                     

LARGE SCALE PIPE VISCOSIFIER (MODEL ST-002)

The large scale pipe viscometer is used to determine the rheology of fracturing fluids and to estimate frictional pressure losses which occur during fracturing treatments.

FOAM TESTING UNIT (MODEL ST-003)

This unit is utilized to determine the rheologies of fracturing foams. In addition, a dynamic fluid loss cell permits the engineer to examine the rate of leakoff and to estimate the amount of formation damage created by the foamed fluid.

FANN 50C VISCOMETER (MODEL ST-004)

This viscometer is used to determine the rheological properties of fracturing fluids at temperatures up to 500° F.

SHEAR HISTORY APPARATUS (MODEL ST-005)

The Shear History Test Apparatus is used to examine the effects of shear upon the rheological properties of a fracturing fluid.

ACID SPENDING UNIT (MODEL ST-006)

This unit is utilized to determine the time necessary for an acid to react on a rock core sample. Acids can be tested at temperatures up to 200° F. Unit has a microprocessor temperature control and a multichannel strip chart recorder is incorporated to present data.

CORROSION TESTER (MODEL ST-007)

Studies are frequently conducted to examine the effect acids have on oilfield tubulars. The corrosion testing permits the testing of corrosion inhibitors and other additives at temperatures and pressures up to 350° F and 5000 psi respectively.
