NON-EMULSIFIERS

INTRODUCTION
Non-emulsifiers are additives which when used in water, acid, or oil-based treating fluids prevent emulsions from forming. Some of these materials can also be used as demulsifiers (for treatment of emulsions to separate the phases).

OILAID-NE-01

Anionic, oil soluble non-emulsifier for oil based frac fluids. OILAID- NE-01 is also effective an an oil cleanup treatment with other hydraulic fracturing operations. It is water dispersible. Typically use Þ 5 gpt in the prepad and 2 to 2.5 gpt in the primary fluid of oil based fracturing operations. To break a stable emulsion or clean up a water block, mix 25 gal OILAID-NE-01 into 200-250 gal of light oil or kerosene, and pump the solution into the affected formation.

OILAID-NE-80

Highly effective cationic liquid non-emulsifier for water based frac fluids and acid treatments. OILAID-NE-80 also serves as a bacteriacide, a corrosion inhibitor, and a surfactant for foaming and surface tension reduction. When used in acidizing or hydraulic fracturing operations, OILAID-NE-80 is typically loaded at 0.5 to 2.0 gpt of treating fluid. It may be batch mixed into the treating fluid, or may be pumped downhole continuously.

OILAID-NE-223

Nonionic liquid non-emulsifier for water base frac fluids and acid treatments. In actual field use, OILAID-NE-223 has been found to be as or more effective than an equal amount of other products currently available on the market. It is compatible with many fluid systems, including those containing clay stabilizers. Typically loaded at 0.5 to 10.0 gpt of treating fluid, however, as with all chemicals of this type, tests should be conducted ahead of time to determine the optimum concentration. OILAID-NE-223 may be either batch mixed into the treating fluid, or continuously pumped downhole.

OILAID-NE-507

Nonionic, acid-soluble product used to prevent emulsions in acid or spent acid with crude oil. OILAID-NE-507 may be used in acid for cleanup or stimulation treatments of oil wells. The product prevents formation of harmful acid/oil emulsions by reducing the interfacial tension between the liquid phases, as well as between the liquid phases and any solids present. It is typically loaded from 1.0 to Þ 10.0 gpt.

OILAID-NE-675

A very effective nonionic non-emulsifier/demulsifier which is for use in oil based frac fluids, acid treatments, and in solvent/oil stimulation operations. OILAID-NE-507 is frequently used with OILAID-MS-1 in its full range of application. For limestone or clean consolidated sandstone treatments, use 1-10 gpt in either acid or oil. For unconsolidated sandstone or very dirty formations, use typically Þ 10-50 gpt.

OILAID-NE-700

Oil soluble surfactant/non-emulsifier for a variety of applications including oil-based fracturing fluids, regular acid and mud acid treating fluids, solvent/oil stimulation treatments, and for water-in-oil emulsions. OILAID-NE-700 is typically loaded from 1 to 10 gpt in limestone and clean sandstone treatments, and from 10 to 50 gpt in unconsolidated sandstone or dirty formation treatments.
