SILT SUSPENDERS |
|---|
| INTRODUCTION
Silts are basically clay minerals which are larger than 4 microns. These minerals can plug off primary and secondary permeability in a formation if they are deposited in the flow channels by the production fluid or the treating fluid. Silt suspenders hold these damaging minerals in the returned treating fluid. In addition, they adsorb onto the walls of the formation and aid in the suspension of silts carried by Şthe produced fluids. |

Cationic surfactant used primarily to suspend insoluble fines in both live and spent acid. Insoluble fines released from producing formations during acidizing formations are, unfortunately, excellent emulsifying agents and can settle and bridge flow channels. OILAID- SS-32 will suspend these fines for up to 24 hours allowing them to be removed with the returned fluid. The product also exhibits strong demulsifying characteristics, and is compatible with with acid inhibitors and non-emulsifiers. Typical loadings range from 5 to 10 gpt. Product Data Sheet |
Nonionic select surfactant for suspension of clays, silts and fines in live or spent acid. OILAID-SS-40 may be added to any HCl or HCL/HF system. A mutual solvent may also be used in conjunction with this product in matrix acidizing operations. OILAID-SS-40 is also applicable in oil or gas reservoirs. It is typically loaded at concentrations of 5 to 20 gpt. It is compatible with cationic and anionic additives. OILAID-SS-40 may be mixed in the storage tank or injected in the line during pumping. Product Data Sheet |
Cationic premium surfactant blend for suspension of silts and fines in acid treatments or water base fracturing fluids. OILAID-SS-50 is also an excellent foam agent in a wide variety of stimulation fluids. As a silt suspending agent, a rate of 1% (10 gpt) is recommended for most applications. As a foaming agent for acid, heavy brines, or brines containing potassium or calcium ions, the recommended rate is 0.2 to 1% (2-10 gpt). OILAID-SS-50 is compatible with other cationic corrosion inhibitors and demulsifiers, as well as most nonionic treating agents. However, it is not recommended for use with anionic products, polyphosphates, and non-cellulose gelling agents. Product Data Sheet |
Nonionic/anionic surfactant used primarily to suspend insoluble fines in both live and spent acid. Insoluble fines released from producing formations during acidizing formations are, unfortunately, excellent emulsifying agents and can settle and bridge flow channels. OILAID- SS-64 will suspend these fines for up to 24 hours allowing them to be removed with the returned fluid. The product also exhibits strong demulsifying characteristics, and is compatible with with acid inhibitors and non-emulsifiers. Typical loadings range from 5 to 20 gpt. Product Data Sheet |
